Tomato Soup and Asiago / Cheddar biscuits

Thought I would post what I made for supper tonight. These are my own variations of some old recipes.

Homemade Tomato Soup

Ingredients:
1 Can diced fire roasted tomatoes
3 T olive oil
Salt and pepper
1 stalk celery, diced
1 small carrot, diced
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
1 bay leaf
2 T butter
1/8 c chopped basil leaves (optional)
1/4 to 1/2 t creole seasoning
1/3 t dill
2 T cilantro
1/2 c cream or 1/2 & 1/2

Directions:
Heat olive oil in sauce pan, add celery, carrot, onion, and garlic, cook until softened. Add can tomatoes, broth, bay leaf, and butter. Simmer till vegetables are tender, about 15 to 20 minutes. Remove bay leaf and add the last five ingredients. Puree in food processor until smooth. Reheat in pan if needed.

Asiago and Cheddar biscuits

Ingredients:
2 C Bisquick
2/3 c milk
1/2 c grated cheddar cheese
1/2 c grated asiago cheese
1/2 c butter
1/4 t chopped garlic
1/8 t garlic salt if desired

Mix Bisquick, cheese, and milk together. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 for 8 to 10 minutes.
Add garlic and garlic salt to butter and melt in microwave. Brush on hot biscuits.

On the Wings

I designed this necklace around the wonderful bird charm from MenagerieStudio.  I love her mixed media Shabby Nouveau Charms! They are unique, light weight, and have a wonderful texture!
I plan to purchase more as soon as my budget allows :)

Other items incorporated into this necklace are:  Vintaj brass, Fluorite nuggets, rose quartz beads, and a Swarovski crystal.

Beadtrends July 2011 Issue

Here is a necklace I made for my friend Patty.  It was published in the July 2011 issue of Beadtrends Magazine.

Patty and I have been best friends for 40 years and we are like family.  She is like a pseudo mom to my daughter April and a pseudo grandmother to my grandchildren.

She was also close to my mother, so I created this necklace for her using a crystal from my mom’s old chandelier.

Happy designing!
